Igu Igu is sick :(

So that nothing would ever go as planned... On Friday I had a day off from work and everything looked ok at early morning. Like 15mins later I went to check again on the cats, just "had this feeling". There was pinkish droplets on Igus bed and I took her to my arms and began looking for a cut or a wound, thinking she had injured herself. Nothing. Then I lifted her tail, and saw the pinkish goo coming out from her behind. Instantly fear hit me and I knew we gotta pack up and start running to the vet asap. Pyometra.

So call to the vet, Igu to the travel bag and off we go. In less than 40mins we landed at the doorsteps and examinations began. Igu had no fever, she did not have any pains in her stomach and vet began doubting my pyometra diagnosis. So we decided to draw blood to get it checked, as Igu was like "business as usual". When blood was taken and I lifted Igu to the travel bag, I saw a pile of pinkish good on the table - so did the vet. Antibiotics, and plenty of them.

Now it is fourth day after Igu getting ill. She has not even looked ill on any of these days. She is eating very well, playing and being her normal self.
Antibiotics are still going, and today another visit to the vet and we will schedule an ultrasound for her uterus.

We are bit hopeful, but it is not time for celebrations yet. She still has a long path to walk. Keep your fingers crossed for our little IguIgu.

Below few pics of Igu ~ 24h after diagnosis... ofc with some catnip!
