Agares and pee problems part number too many..

So, there we go again, the urinary track infection stroke Agares. 2 weeks of injections, spying her on the door while she was peeing and hoping... and hoping. For a while we always got it under control, until it hit her again. It was feeling like a never ending story.

Those who do not know, Agares is very afraid of the world and new situations cause here very bad stress. We've managed at home, and Aga has been less stressed than ever before. Everything was going well, until she again started having symptoms of UTI (Urinary track infection) and frequent visits to toilet, peeing to wrong places and visible stress shown us that she needed help. So call to vet and we got medications for her.

Now on Monday, we hit a wall. Agares was barely peeing anymore, and was so stressed from treating her, that it was obvious that we needed a miracle. We arranged a vet visit for Tuesday and we all were very worried if little FaFaa will come back home.
By a miracle, during Tuesday, she had managed to empty her bladder. We got new set of meds at vet including painkiller, antikoagulant, antibiotic and no-spa to relax her bladder.
Its been now two days, and the blood from urine has vanished. Also no more frequent visits to the toilet.

We are also trying a medicine called Kalm-Aid, to help to relax her. It is commonly known that most of the pee problems with cats are caused due stress, and we are guessing that Agares is not getting enough aminoacids to help produce serotonin which is a calming hormone. So with Kalm-Aid, we hope this balance can be restored and she can be her happyself again.

We still have big mission ahead of us, that is to catch a urine sample from her. That will not be easy, as Agares is still stressed from all the treatments and will take a while before she allows anyone near her in the toilet. But we keep hoping that we finally got over this set of urinary track infections and it will stay away for a while, or even better... permanately.

NanoSurgat, sister of Agares has been overcaring for Agares, sleeping next to her, washing her and guarding her. She is very, very protective and if any of the other cats go near them, she is hissing and pawing them to get them to back off. This has been the situation always when Agares has had any healthissues, our little NanoSurgat turns into the best ever guardian angel.
