A Cat is for life... not for a moment

Saddened by so many cats passing through the rainbow bridge every day, many too young, and put to sleep without real reason I decided to write you few things to read.

A Cat can live 20 years. When you are taking this little furball to your home, do you realize, that you are expected to take care of him for all these years ? To serve him and cherish him ? Many do forget this. When the small kitten grows up, it might not be so cute anymore, but it is part of the nature. We do not stay as tiny, cute kittens for the rest of our lives, but we are not anything less when we grow up.
Sometimes there are changes in life, that you are unable to take care of your cat anymore. Allergy, life change etc... it is important, that you, Human, make sure that your cat finds a proper "forever home". We are not something to be tossed around to weird places every couple weeks as humans get bored to us. We need a stable environment to live in, a lap to sleep and purr on, and regular food and healthcare. We get attached to our surroundings and everytime we have to move, we cry even if you do not see our tears.
If it happens, that even with your best efforts you cannot find a new home for a cat, do not... DO NOT... abandon your cat on streets. They are not a place for us. We do not belong to the jungle of cars and blockbuildings and concrete. Take us to a vet and let the vet escort us to the rainbow bridge. We do NOT suffer from euthanasia, but first before taking this last step, please be sure you've tried everything to find him a new home. Animal shelters, friends, vet... This last step cannot be cancelled, and it means one of us will walk the bridge and never return.

We cats live long, and many of us do not have a pleasure of having a permanent home for this period of long time. If you are thinking of getting a kitten... why not take an older cat from the shelter instead ? Older cats are nothing less than kittens... they might not be so cute, but they love the same... as well as they have gained life experiences that a babykitten is still missing. The shelters are usually full of elderly cats... as so many do not want to be their "forever home" for their older days. You, dear reader, can make a difference :)

Even saving one soul makes a difference, since by saving this one soul from walking the rainbow bridge too early, you can give the greatest gift of all... Life. And as a reward I cannot promise gold, or money or diamonds... but I promise, that the moment your new friend comes on your lap and purrs to you from happiness... you have received something more valuable than all diamonds in the world.

Please share our blog and help people to know about our mission. It is important just not for me, but for all those cats in the world that need a loving home! Thank you.
