Hush little baby - RIP our adopted kitten "Extra"

It hurts, every single time it hurts. Every single time it brings tears to eyes.

Extra came to us as an adopted kitten as his mommy did not care for him after C-section. He fell into the nest like he had been there always. When we gave him to Hulda, our balinese mommy, she just licked him and adopted him instantly. After couple minutes Extra was at home.
He did not suckle much, but received extra milk from bottle. Always so hungry and happily suckling.

Yesterday evening during the feeding we noted that he had a fresh rectum prolapse and he was rushed to the vet. At the clinic they made him wait over 2h before veterinarian decided to take him in. It was said to "not be life threatening condition". 1,5weeks old kitten... This is not our usual clinic where we are going, but another one where we took him due the nature of emergency to receive fast treatment.

The rectum was pushed back and stitched.

Unfortunately this morning he had given up, reason unknown, and he passed away peacefully without pains. He just... slept.

Thank you for this short time you were with us Extra. It just was a way too short time. We'll all be missing you, your enthusiastic voice when you realized a bottle was coming to you, your bright eyes and all the development that you did do when at our home. I am sad that I cannot follow up on seeing you grow to big and beautiful cat, but you'll do it behind the rainbow bridge with all the other kittens that have gone there before you.

I will lend to you for awhile a kitten, God said.
For you to love while he lives, and mourn when he's dead.
Maybe for twelve or fourteen years, or maybe two or three.
But will you, 'till I call him back, take care of him for me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you and, should his stay be brief
You'll always have his memories as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return.
But there are lessons taught below I want this kitten to learn.
I've looked the whole world over in search of teachers true.
And from the folk that crowds life's land I have chosen you.
Now will you give him all your love, nor think the labor vain?
Nor hate me when I come to take my kitten home again?
I fancied that I heard them say 'Dear Lord Thy Will Be Done'
For all the joys this kitten brings the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness, we'll love him while we may.
And for the happiness we've known, forever grateful stay.
But should you call him back much sooner than we planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes, and try to understand.
If, by our love we've managed your wishes to achieve,
Then in memory of him whom we loved, please help us while we grieve.
When our cherished kitten departs this world of strife,
Please send yet another needing soul for us to love all his life.
